<Alex_W> 2: We were discussing before, but got cut off. I was under the impression that Dark Epic growth rules were used for getting influences above a 5, so levels 1 - 5 were still just a, xp expend to get them without requiring growth.
<Bex> Using growth rules below 5 make the gaining of influences much more organic. The NPCs have to follow the same rules. There is a complex influence game going on under the surface. Anyone can gain any first level of any influence with a "What have you done for me lately" statment. So let's say you want Street influence. You could send in a "Here's what I'm doing to gain Street influence."
<Bex> It doesn't make the story richer for you to just go "I have extra XP, let's gain a level of Street"
INFLUENCE CAPS <Alex_W> Do you limit the number of influences one person can have?
<Bex> technically, no. However, understand that if anyone gets too powerful, there are powers both PC and NPC that may work to bring that overpowered back down.
INFLUENCE REFRESH <Alex_W> 1: How often do influences refresh in your game? is it monthly like usual, or 2 times a month sense we ''play'' every day?
<Bex> The refresh on influences depend on what you're doing with them.
<Bex> The Influence cycle is twice monthly: 1st and 15th. If you're using your influences to get shit done, you get both refreshes. If you're using grow actions, watch actions, block actions... Those take a whole month, and therefore refresh on the 1st only.
